A bit of History: |

I started showing dogs at the age of 8. My grandmother introduced me to showing and the first dog I went into the ring with was ‘Gemma’ an OES. She was lovely and we won 4th at a companion show. Next was ‘Arnie’ another OES, he was very different from Gemma being a dog he was much stronger and harder to handle. On many occasions I came out the ring with a very red hand from holding on to his lead. But he took me through to win many a show and put me well on my way to where I am today! |

After a few years of showing and giving up my dancing to go to more dogs shows my mum finally agreed to let me have my own dog. It was decided that a Manchester Terrier was the dog for us. Easy to groom and not too big, fairly active so great for a young girl. However when I told people I would have the ‘best trained’ puppy in the ring at 6 months old, they thought I was mad. Especially as it was a Manchester! Anyway come 6 months me and my ‘Xen’ went in the ring. Not only did he get BP but I won my Junior Handling class and Best Junior Handler. It was a day I will never forget. We went on to do many open shows and the occasional championship shows qualifying for crufts on a number of occasions, gaining his stud book number and qualifying for the semi-finals at Richmond. |

A couple of years down the line I was offered my first border terrier by a very good friend of mine and her parents. So home from a show I came with an extra doggie a lovely young man called Blu. Blu was around 14 months old when I got him a great little boy who slept on the kitchen table and helped you with loading the dishwasher. We did a few little shows together and had some good wins, Blu is now 12 years old and the ‘Old Man of the Family’. We now have 4 Border Terriers and don’t think I could ever be without 1 or a few again! |

Anyway that was the start of me getting into showing, started off with the OES and now mainly known for my Terriers. I have shown many different breeds over the years and now put my handling skills into showing dogs for other people. |

I have won the YKC handling 21-25yrs 3 times. 2007 Australian Terrier, 2006 Greenland Dog, 2004 Border Terrier. The only person to date to have achieved this and with 3 different breeds. |
